yuc|ca «YUHK uh», noun.
1. a plant found in dry, warm regions of North and Central America, having stiff, narrow, pointed leaves shaped like swords at its base and an upright cluster of white, bell-shaped flowers. Adam's-needle and Spanish bayonet are two kinds. Yucca belongs to the agave family.
2. its flower, the emblem of New Mexico.
